With digital marketing skills increasingly in demand, LinkedIn has launched two new free LinkedIn Marketing Certification courses, allowing you to learn more about LinkedIn’s advertising tools and options, and also earn an official certification, which you can then show on your LinkedIn profile. .
I mean, it’s not the most impressive certificate, and most people probably won’t laminate the PDF (which you can download) or frame it on their wall. But it provides another way to showcase your knowledge of LinkedIn’s advertising tools, which could help you get ahead of your professional competition.
As noted, LinkedIn offers two certifications to show your experience on the platform:
- Fundamentals Certification (Basic): Demonstrates experience in launching LinkedIn campaigns and advertising tactics. With this certification, you can run successful LinkedIn ad campaigns that generate business results.
- Marketing strategy certification (intermediate): Demonstrates expertise in leveraging LinkedIn ads for full funnel strategies, including brand awareness and lead generation. Once certified, you can create marketing strategies that take advantage of LinkedIn’s full suite of marketing tools.
The process to earn your certification involves first learning about LinkedIn advertising products, through a variety of courses available on the LinkedIn Certifications page.
Once you have gone through each module, or if you are sure you know all the key details, you can take the corresponding certification exam, in which you will have 60 minutes to answer 60 multiple-choice questions in the LinkedIn advertising tools. and processes.
You can retake the test up to 3 times and the certification expires in 2 years. And even though you have 60 minutes, if you know what you’re doing, you can do it in a lot less time.
If you pass the test, you can follow the steps to add the certification to your LinkedIn profile, highlighting your knowledge of LinkedIn ads to visitors.
The questions on the test itself are a bit mixed, at least in the ‘Fundamentals’ test, with some obviously pointing to the correct answer among the options, and others requiring a good level of knowledge of the LinkedIn ad system.
But the process is free, and you have three chances to do it, and at the very least, even if you never pass the final test, you will end up learning a lot more about how LinkedIn ads work and how to build. your campaigns on the platform.
And as noted, with e-commerce and digital marketing increasingly a focus over the past year, it may be worth honing your skills and earning official accreditation to help you maximize your future prospects.
Or, you can do it just to prove yourself and if you really know about LinkedIn marketing like you think.
